FEMA Admits They’ve Fallen Short

“We are experiencing a continuous increase in the number of extreme weather events. (Yet) the vast majority of Americans remain unprepared for major disasters.”

– Dr. Irwin Redlener, Director for the National Center for Disaster Preparedness at Columbia University

I suppose in a perfect world, the government would immediately step in during disasters. And they’d provide whatever assistance we need.

That’s what FEMA was designed to do when it was created in 1979.

But we’ve seen firsthand it usually doesn’t work out that way. Just ask the poor folks forced to take shelter at the New Orleans Superdome during Hurricane Katrina. It might have been scarier inside that building than out in the storm.

Or, ask FEMA. Agency officials recently admitted their shortcomings over the last year — they drastically underestimated the devastation Hurricane Maria would bring.

Powerless to Help Puerto Ricans

More than 3 million people in this U.S. territory lost electrical power in that horrific storm. Some for many months.

Originally the death toll was listed at 64. But a recent study conducted at Harvard University revealed it was closer to 4,000.

FEMA officials admitted they didn’t plan properly for a major hurricane. And did not take the country’s “insufficiently maintained infrastructure” into account.

A report stated: “FEMA leadership acknowledged that the Agency could have better anticipated that the severity of hurricanes Irma and Maria would cause long-term, significant damage to the territory’s infrastructure.”

Statistics Tell the Story

Here are some statistics about preparedness you might find interesting. They were published by FEMA.

• Eighty percent of Americans live in counties that have been hit with a weather-related disaster since 2007.
• Approximately 60 percent of American adults have not practiced what to do in a disaster in the past year.
• Less than 40 percent of Americans have developed an emergency plan and discussed it with their household.
• About two-thirds of Americans lack adequate supplies for a disaster.

FEMA: Every American Should Have This

Those stats are concerning to say the least.

Earlier this year, FEMA director Brock Long admitted that it’s up to U.S. citizens to become self-reliant.

He said, “We have to make sure that we implement a true culture of preparedness within our citizenry. We don’t have it…

“It cannot be solely on the shoulders of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.”

Both FEMA and the Red Cross suggest that every American have non-perishable survival food on hand.

Natural disasters, terrorist attacks and other threats can make obtaining sufficient food impossible in an emergency.

Demand Surges for NEW Survival Food Kit

Here’s what customers have to say about our survival food.

Sharon C. shares how her entire family likes the taste:
“We have tried several of the different foods in the 4Patriots packages, and each member of the family actually liked them! That is kind of unusual, as they are rather picky eaters. So it is a wonderful thing to know that we have some great food in case of disaster that won’t cause any extra stress because someone doesn’t like what is available.”

Stacy W. talks about the peace of mind our survival food brings her:
“I would never have planned ahead. 4Patriots changed that. Having a supply of food that does not spoil for years allows me to relax. I do not have to worry where we will get food if a disaster occurs. We have an adequate supply of great tasting food should that ever happen. Removing that stress and putting my mind at ease is worth every penny. Thank you!”

And Jane discusses the importance of being prepared:
“I am a 60-year-old single Veteran and a previous food service specialist in the military. And I feel it is very important that we think about our basic needs, be thankful for what we have, get ready, learn and be prepared. Your food has really come in handy, is so good and has especially come to my rescue during home emergencies when I couldn’t make it to the grocery store. I really like that your company gives back to our Veterans.”

4Patriots survival foods are made of the finest ingredients, grown and packaged right here in the USA. They taste great and provide the nutrition you need.
